Design Elements: Making the Most out of your Living Room

in small spaces design is E V E R Y T H I N G. creating a cohesive and productive look is crucial to getting the most out of the space. this is not hard to do with a little planning (ehem pintrest) and handy work, just be ready to get your hands dirty!

my roommates and i picked up some canvases from michael's and created our own artwork with some simple patterns. just pick a color scheme that you like and let your creativity do the rest.

using furniture to add color is a great way to brighten up a room when not much can fit in it. our red couch definitely adds character to our living room! warm it up with candles and some other small touches like these glass bottles. we got some very tasteful fake flowers from michael's as well and stuck them in the bottles. cute and low maintenance!

Design Elements: Slate Bedroom

my fav room in the apartment= my bedroom.

moving into my first apartment, i finally got to take advantage of having a space to make completely my own. starting fresh, with a clean slate is any pinterest savvy girls dream and i made sure to take full advantage of that opportunity.

my goal was to create a warm space that would be both a cozy study place and sheek hangout.  check out the major design elements in my room. hope it inspires you to try out something new!
